About Me	in 1983 I started college at Samford and after one year joined the United States Marine Corps. After a short time on active duty was assigned to the Marine Corps Reseve Center in Bessemer. When I turned 21, I became a Birmingham Police Officer. I did this for ten years while simultaneously finishing my college education, getting married having 3 kids and getting my law degree. I began my own law practice in 1995 in Bessemer. As with many of us I was divorced in 1999. In 2001 I became Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery, Alabama, eventually moving to the Fourth Judicial Circuit where I was Assistant District Attorney for Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry and Wilcox Counties.
