This should demonstrate what life was like for MANY poor people from our past, and especially in the early days of our country. But, even I grew up knowing people - both black and white - who not only spoke this way, but spelled this way - if they could spell at all. And the linguistic style demonstrated here is often mistaken for being that of only poor, uneducated black people. But, who did they learn their language skills from? THE POOR, UNEDUCATED WHITE PEOPLE, who they often worked with - and the only white people who spoke to them (aside from the well-to-do whites, when giving orders). I hope that those who read this are appropriately alarmed by what the "story" tells, as well as the phonetic writing style and speech delivery. Through affirmative action, black youths were made to feel guilty by their elders for not taking full advantage of what affirmative action offered - although it was poorly administered - and consequently became angry grown men. White youths were frustrated for being put at the "back of the line" for scholarships, loans, etc. for college. Many gave up and, consequently, became angry grown white men. The great divide was not originally between whites and blacks, but between the HAVES and the HAVE-NOTS. The racial divide was manufactured by the rich. God forbid that the poor commoners ever begin to suspect the truth! But, it is STILL this way - and getting much, much worse. The "1 percenters" will try the same divisive tactics that were used before. Don't let them stir up racial hate in YOU, in order to divert your attention from THEM. Take the battle to the REAL enemy... not your brothers and sisters of the "other 99 percent"! I feel that it's time to lay the blame for this country's - indeed, this world's division at the feet of the rich, where it belongs! There is an old Buddhist saying that says "When you see a finger pointing at the moon, don't mistake the finger for the moon". Not bad advice for a "poor white child". And remember... all of that music that you love, whether it be rock or rap - well, it came from the blues and the ancient work ...(read more)
