About Me | I graduated in 1982 from Mishawaka High School (GO CAVEMEN). After graduation, I moved to Florida. I married Jay in 1987 and we have been married ever since! We have two cats and two dogs and no children. We love to travel and have been everywhere from Hawaii, to Illinois, to the Bahamas, to N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Georgia, Wisconsin, etc. We love the outdoors and hiking with our dogs. I work for a medical supply company in Port Richey, Florida and do the accounts payable and human resources. We just recently moved in January (2009) after Hernando County bought us out to put a road through our front yard. We now live in a gated sub-division with a huge dog park! My favorite thing in life is coming home to my husband and all my "babies". In July of 2011, the company I worked for for 27 years filed bankruptcy. So, as of right now, I am temporarily unemployed. I have started an on-line course to become a phamacy technician, and hope to pass that test in the next few months. I passed my test, but the wonderful State of Florida has denied me a license (long, long story). I finally found a job in October of 2012. I am working at A Quality Answering Service as an operator. A very fast paced job, but at least I don't take my work home with me! Okay, that job didn't work out. My fellow employees were very rude, nasty, and unprofessional. So, after two weeks there, I quit. I started working at Belk Department Store on November 12th as a temporary seasonal worker. I think they are going to hire me on permanently....we'll see. I like it there and I like everyone I work with. It's been hard for me to get back into the retail setting after being away from it for a while....but it's all coming back to me. I made it through "Black Friday" and now I just have to get through Christmas and the after effects of people returning stuff they bought. Once I survive that, it should get much easier! I am really enjoying it so far though!! Made it through the holidays and my temporary job has turned into a permanent job! Belk decided to keep me and I am so happy to have a job! I am still considered part-time even though I get almost as many hours as the full-time employees. The store manager told me to hang in there and I will end up a full-time employee. Can't wait for that day so I can get benefits! Life is good! It is May 2013 and I became a full-time employee back in February! I now get medical benefits and whatever other benefits I choose. So happy! As a condition of full-time, I was moved to the shoe department. Doesn't seem very difficult, but it is a physically demanding job. Hopefully I will lose some weight now! ...(read more) |
