About | James Marvin “Jim” McClary, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and true friend, departed this life peacefully on July 31, 2022, with his family at his side. James was born on May 2, 1956, in Athens, Tennessee to the late Austin Peay and Blanche Inez Arthur McClary. In his early years, Jim became his reference title, as well as friend, while quickly developing the characteristic manner second to none. His love for people was evident throughout his daily life, however, his love for his family was bar none. Throughout life, Jim learned of a passion for farming and eventually developed Hiwassee Farm, where he and his family successfully operated in the dairy business. A few of his fondest memories in his later years include the countless hours spent on the farm with his grandchildren, family, and countless friends while enjoying each moment as if it were his last. After his days spent at Hiwassee Farm, Jim was a faithful and dedicated driver of 20 years with Weaver Farms. He was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Austin and Blanche McClary, he was preceded by the mother of his children, Donna McClary Peterson; paternal grandparents, Hugh Morris and Julia Christian McClary; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Callie G. Arthur. Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife, Dawn Miles McClary; beloved children, Paul Austin McClary, Jesse James (Michelle) McClary, and Priscilla Inez (Clee) McKnight; cherished grandchildren, Mikayla, Jade, Noah, Lily, Diamond, Ozzy, Mantu, Lilliana Inez “Little Punkin”, and Layla Jaymes; stepdaughters, Sarah Hicks, Crystal (Brandon) Tinnon, and Holly (Josh) Stroud; step-grandchildren, Landon, Lane, Aby, C.J., Ayzlyn and Ady “Little Holly”; siblings, Jerry Lowery, Morris (Cheryl) McClary, and Elaine (Jeff) Lewis; nieces and nephews, Rachel (Rusty) Brewer, Mason McClary, Amy (John) Guthrie, Cynthia (Nathan) Cloar, Hayley (David) Martin, Allysen Werner, Eryn Lewis, Austyn Lewis, and Kinsey (Jake) Hartson.
