Served as a TOW missile gunner, 4.2" mortar crew member, flight medic, and light infantry platoon leader. Received 2 Army Achievement Medals, 3 Army Reserve Achievement Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
