| About Me | After a few more years of school, I completed degrees in biology and law. For most of my career, I have worked for state agencies, both in Oregon and Washington. Primarily, I have worked as a policy specialist and manager focused on issues concerning environmental protection, economic development, and land use. Currently, I work for an agency that deals with education issues. About 17 years ago, I developed dystonia, a "movement disorder" similar to Parkinson's Disease. The dystonia caused me to develop increasingly severe tremors and spams. Eventually, all of the muscles along my spine stiffened, landing me in a wheelchair for a couple of years. In late 2008, I underwent brain surgery at the UC San Francisco Medical Center. If you are looking for a good time, I don't recommend brain surgery - a wild ride! I got lucky...(read more) |
