SFC James "Bo" Swearingen served proudly in the US Army for 12 years. He was a bronze medal recipient, a member of the Audie Murphy and Saint Francis organizations. He was killed state side with his wife on 04/03/2010. There is a veterans non-profit working in his memory and honor - Bo's Blessings. The organization is ran by his Mother, Jannie Reeves Layne (1972 graduate of SHS)
