About Me	After college I did a doctorate in Comparative Literature (French, Italian, English) at Harvard and had the good fortune to receive a fellowship to do research in Paris for two years. After that I worked for eight years at the National Endowment for the Humanities in Washington, DC, and then spent twenty years as the founding Executive Director of the Consortium for Foreign Language Teaching and Learning, an organization that included Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale. In 2006 I was appointed the Executive Director of the Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States in New York City: the Foundation gives scholarships in STEM fields to brilliant college graduate for a year of research at the University of Cambridge. Over ten years I traveled to Cambridge and London some twenty-five times, made wonderful new friends, and was presented on separate occasions to Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh and to HRH Queen Elizabeth. I retired in June of 2015 and wonder how it is possible to feel busier retired then when I was working. My wife Kathy and I have been married for over fifty years.
