E-5 Aircraft Mechanic at McCord AFB, WA. My aircraft was 630018 "Balls 18", on C-141A and B models, worked on C-130 and C-5A's which are the largest aircraft in the USAF inventory. Went to Alaska at Fairbanks and Ketchecan and worked on C5-A's, Holloman AFB, New Mexico and supported Red Flag exercises, Pope AFB, North Carolina, where I busted my eye brow on a landing gear that was too low. Fort Bragg, North Carolina bought some 150 proff white lightin for my Father Vernon, Eglin AFB, Repaired a C-141B pilots metering valve, lots of work. Iwakuni Japan, Joint exercises, Repaired flap breaks that no one could accomplish before flight time, visited Hiroshima, Japan and walked thru peace park. Honduras, where I was stung by a brown scorpion and young Hondurans teenagers caring AR-15's,some of the guys used a water tank to cool off in like a pool.

I Worked as a Munitions Specialist, which is making different bomb configurations for TAC jets (F-4, F-111, and F-105), and storage and line deliveries to the aircraft.
Started out in basic in Lackland AFB, Texas, then Munitions School at Lowery AFB, Denver Colorado, then to Seymour-Johnson AFB, Goldsboro, North Carolina, the to Dang, Vietnam (for 1 year), then to George AFB, in Victorville, Calif. My rank was E-4 (Sgt).
