I was drafted in June,1957, the DAY AFTER I graduated from Southwestern University.
I served in Europe from Dec. 1957 to May 1957. I
It was a wonderful exerience.
I served in the 7th Army Symphony Orchestra and Soldiers Show Co. We were an entertainment company of about 350 musicians, electricians, script writers scenery designers, etc.
My job was as an aux. Trumpeter with the Sym. Orch. and as Lead Trumpet with the big 25 piece jazz band named Jazz 3.. The last few weeks I was a member of the 7th Army Band.
This was a great way for me to serve my country, and, frankly, I feel somewhat indebted to my "Friends and Neighbors" wh decided I should be drafted.

Our Brazosport High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Brazosport High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
