We moved to Ft. Worth in the Spring '46 @ age 16. I 'stood over 18', joined the Army- Basic-Ft. Eustis, Tech- Ft. Warren WY, & 2 yrs. as Ship To Shore Radio Operator @ Port Whittier, AK. All after the combat was over.Eternally grateful to combat vets who gave me the GI Bill. Graduated High School With my class of'48 via GED while in Alaska, hunting & fishing during off duty periods. Tough duty! Served two years in 49th Armored Texas NG while working 40 years as test engineer @ Bell (BHTI) Helicopter Experimental Flight-Developed first Hueys, OH-58's, Cobra's & V-22 Tiltrotor. Worked with all US Mil. Branches & many Foreign Militaries,& a stint in Iran. Departed Iran on last Airline flt. out before hostage taking in Nov '78. Retired BHTI '92 with last work on V22 Development for USMC. Ten V22's just arrived in Afghanistan, 5 with new Belly Gun Developed with my son's help as BHTI Eng'r
