I most recently deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. I was also activated for deployment to New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. split service: 70 to 76 and 84 to 97. Hit the Persian Gulf for Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. I started out as a Radioman, and then switched to Fire Controlman. The first system was the 51 C/D radar for guided missile firings. The next was CIWS, and I loved that one. served on multiple Amphibs, Destroyers, and Cruisers.

I was a Crew Chief on the F-16 Fighting Falcon but now I have a new job and I'm a Flight Engineer on the E-3 AWACS. I'm active duty currently stationed in Oklahoma, I sure miss Oregon, and plan on staying in 20 years. Thanks for your support of the Military!!

Served from 1958 to 1962 with 3rd Bn. 11th Marines, First Marine Division.
After NCO school served as Communications Section Chief and as an Artillery Forward Observer.
Honorable Discharge in 1962.

served 27 years as enlisted and officer. attended USC majoring in cinema through AECP. commissioned in sept 68 and attended flight scool at randolph afb. deployed to vietnam in AC-119K gunships where i served a long and short tour, returning to florida to be an instructor. after hostilities ceased, became flight instructor at craig afb in selma alabama, then attended F-4 school at homestead afb. posted to nellis afb for two years, command and staff school for a year, then f-4s again at torrejon afb in spain. selected to train in F-16s. last assignment was air liason officer with 8th infantry division in germany. retired in 1987, the flew for horizon air in portland and united airlines. retired in 2002 off the 747.

Almost 3 years off the coast of Viet Nam. Moved to Eugene and then to Portland. Married the love of my life and 43 years later we are still in love.
While I hated being in the Navy at the time, I am proud I served and support all who have served this great country. We went when it was the least popular thing to do.

Joined in '92, and went to submarine duty as a Mess Management Specialist (later Culinary Specialist). First stationed on USS Drum (SSN-677) in San Diego, CA. In '95, went to USS Olympia (SSN-717) in Pearl Harbor, HI. In '97, went to Submarine Base Bangor, WA. In '01, went to USS Augusta (SSN-710) in Groton, CT. Finally, in '05, came to Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA. In '09, the navy politely told me to leave, and I went to Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay as an Marine Machinery Mechanic Apprentice. In 2013, I graduated the apprenticeship, and traded up to Instrument Mechanic in 2016.

I was in the signal corps and was stationed in Germany on two tours. the first tour was with charlie company,1st sig bn,7th sig bde from jan 74 to Jun 77; and 252nd sig company,69th sig bn,7th sig group,8th sig command theater. setting up and maintain radio commo tactical. and repair and maintain secure data and voice comm crypto equipment.

Retired as full Colonel (0-6). Deployed with 41st Bde for OEF tour in Afghanistan, June 06-Jul 07, where I spent my year as the Regional Police Advisor, RC North, located in Mazar-e-sharif, Afghanistan. Retired in July 2007 with over 30 years active and NG service.
