I was awarded "honorman" of my company in basic training. Graduated from Aviation Electronics school at ATC Memphis. Was stationed as ships company in Quantanamo Bay Cuba (Leeward Point) NAS GTMO. From May '62 until Nov '63 during the missle blockade (Kennedy-Khrushchev era). Rose to the rank of ATN2 and was transferres to VRC-40, NAS Norfolk, VA. Was avionics shop "Night Check" supervisor until my discharge in Nov 1964.

Inventory Management Specialist, Top Secret Clearance. I was involved peripherally with the Iranian Rescue Mission. My base participated in the "Star Wars" project under President Reagan. I have been to Europe, Sardinia, Saudi Arabia, as well as stateside assignments, and participated in Red Flag, and William Tell . I was further stationed overseas with my husband, our base was directly involved with bombing Libya in "86, and Desert Shield and Storm.

Enlisted nuclear electrician's mate 2nd class (E-5), earned commission and advanced to Lieutenant (O-3), qualified as a nuclear engineer on a fleet ballistic missle submarine. Three nuclear strategic deterent patrols out of Holy Loch, Scotland. Cold war veteran.

Served on 4 ships from the Pearl Harbor, where we made 2 deployments to Vietmann and other ports inthe western Pacific. I was in The Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club and saw the end of the shotting war in January 1973 and ended escorted minesweepers to North Vietmamese waters befors we allowed off station. The Epeerson DD719 the was tranferred to Seattle Washington as a training ship for reservivist, By this time I was I was machinestmate 3rd Class. I reinlisted in June of 1974, went to Cyrogennics School in Norfolk navy Shipyard, then on to a two year tuor of dut at Kingsville Naval Air Station in Texas. January 1977, I transfered to Kreflavik, Iceland for a year, as a 2nd Class Petty Officer, February 1978 I joined The USS Independence CV62 in the Norfolk navy ShipYards and had a work cruise ise in the Carribeean Sea and Amed Cruise in 1979. Mid 1980 I transfered to the USS Corando LPD11 again in the shipyard as a 1st Class Petty Officer. The ship was peppeing to releive the command that was in the Persian Gulf at the time right after the Hostage corise in Iran. In mid Atlantic were re desidate a AGF11 soa s to the Command ship for Mid East Forces and carried a helicopter mine sweeping group to be within 24 hour steaming time of the Striats of Hovovs. In July 1981 I tranferred off and arrived In Rota, Spain Naval Statio for a Two Year Tuor, which turnned into three years. August 1984 i Joined the USS America CV66, then on on on a Med cruise and saw the last 1/4 of that cruise. we took the ship into the Yards in Norfolk, for 3 months, had workup cruise in Florida and the Carribean again and then a North Atlantic Cruise, and a Med cuise in 1986 in time to bomb Libya in April. Coming home in September. I was required to take a discharge in October of 1986 due to RIFs at the time and persnnallty issues which drpoed my revals below the required levels to be allowed to reelist and get 20 years.

I worked the flight deck of the USS Nimitz. My awards, plane captin of the Month, Quarter and Year all in the same year 1979. I took care of A-6 intruders VA-35 based out of Virgina.
