Served 20 years active duty. Almost 15 years in Germany (3 different assignments). Served as a musician primarily. Became a linguist in the latter part of my career. I was in Berlin when the Wall came down and served throughout Reunification.

Managed to miss a number of world crises including the building of the Berlin Wall, some mid-east crap, the Cuban Missle Crisis and the start of Viet Nam. One of the unique experiences I had was being highlined between a DDE and my ship.
