33rd Inf Div Band = Illinois National Guard Band
Joined June 9,1960 - Just before Graduation -
Parents & Faculty thought I was Crazy - However in the Guard Band - I served - and did not go to Viet Nam like others. Graduated
BS in Music Education from Illinois State '65 -
Got a D- in German - Flunked Music 8th grade - LOL Now Compose Music and Direct the foremost Bavarian Band in New England =
THE MAD BAVARIAN BRASS BAND a/k/a Die Lustige Musikanten Des Heimatlandes. LOL
Batted 1,000 in spring baseball 1960 - batted 15 times - one base by hook mostly crook every time ! I was the splinter warmer on the bench! JP Sousa award see my name on the plaque 1960.

Air Force, 20+ Years

I retired as Master Sgt. after 23 years of service.. I served 1 year in Viet Nam (1969-1970), My family was able to be with me everywhere from McChord Washington to RAF Upper Heyford, England and many places in between. I retired in 1981.
I began as a B-52 maintence, worked up to crew chief, and after 1969 worked as Maintence Scheduler.
