My service was from January 1959 to January 1963. Stationed at Whidbey Is. Wash., I made two WesPac cruises to the Far East aboard the aircraft carriers USS Bon Homme Richard, CVA-31 and The USS Lexington, CVA-16 with my squadron, HATRON-4. I was a plane captain on A3D twin Jet bombers. Although we were not officially at war in Vietnam, we "practiced" making bombing runs in Laos during 1961-1962.
