Air Force, 20 Years
Severed in the Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic, my tour of duties included 1981-1983 Kadena AB Okinwa PLSC Squadron, 1983-1986 Hickam AFB HI 15th FMS, 1986-1993 Travis AFB CA 60th FMS/CRS, 1993 -2000 Kelly AFB TX 2 Level Maintenance/ Depot Engineering section.

Served 22 years on Active Duty and retired as a Master Sgt in 2006. Duty stations included Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan(1985-1986); Blytheville AFB, AR(1986-1987); Keesler AFB, MS(1987-1993); Keflavik NAS, Iceland(1993-1994); Whiteman AFB, MO(1994-1999); and Springfield, MO (Enlisted Recruiter 1999-2003; Officer Recruiter 2003-2006);
After retiring in 2006, I continued to wear the uniform while teaching Junior ROTC at Bolivar HS, Bolivar, MO from 2006-2012.
Two of my children also served: my son in the Army for 3 years, and my oldest daughter in the Air Force 3 years and counting.

Duty stations were Camp Pendleton CA 1st Marines and Infantry Training School, MCRD San Diego CA DI 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Camp Lejeune NC Formal School Instructor, Marine Recruiting Kansas City Mo, and Charleston WV, Iwakuni Japan Marine Corps Air Station, Okinawa Japan 3rd SRI, and various other temporary duty locations.

Entered the Army in 1984 as a Scout Helicopter Repairman. Attended the Army Aviation Warrant Officer Flight Training in 1987 and 1988, rated in multiple aircraft. Retired in April 2014 as a Chief Warrant Officer 5, Apache Helicopter pilot with duty as the Army Aviation Branch Maintenance Officer. Served eleven years at various locations in Germany, nine years in and out of Ft Rucker, AL, six years at Ft Hood, TX and one year in Egypt. Deployments include Desert Storm/Shield and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2 tours). Served in multiple duty positions along the way.
