Army, 21 Years
Enlisted in 1981 to join my husband Charley ('68, attended '64-'66) recalled to active duty in 1980. Commissioned at Officer Candidate School in 1982 into the Finance Corps. Retired with 21-1/2 years as a Major and still serve today as a Department of the Army civilian for the Comptroller nearing 40 years total service.

Served as an aircraft commander and fireteam leader with the 334th Armed Helicopter Company in Viet Nam. The The 334th is the predecessor unit to the current Apache Attack Regiments. Later served at 5th Army headquartes and as a combat engineer. Awarded the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross w/ First Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Purple Heart w/ first Oak Leaf Cluster , Meritorious Service Medal, Air
Medal w/ "V' Device, Air Medal w/ 16 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Army Commendation Medal w/ "V" Device. Retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996 with 31 1/2 years of Service. Received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Louisiana State University,

Our New Trier Township High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our New Trier Township High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Winnetka are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
