Class of 1965
Air Force, 1 Years
I enlisted in the US Air Force in April 1967, finished basic training, at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, in May 1967. I then attended tech school at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS. from June 1967 to Sept 1967 to become a radio relay equipment repairman. During my tech school training, I developed some serious problems with my stomach and digestive system. Because of these medical problems, I was withdrawn from tech school and medically discharged in October 1967. I was extremely disappointed, because it was my plan to make the military a career. I eventually went to work for the Veterans Administration and served my fellow veterans and country for 22 years, before retiring.

Our Oakhaven High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Oakhaven High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Memphis are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
