Was an airplane mechanic in the ARMY (not Air Force) for 20 years. I served at several state side bases such Ft Hood, Benning, Campbell, and Rucker. I was a mechanic for several years, also a maintenance supervisor, and maintenance instructor and also taught pilots systems operation. I served in Korea 2 times and Vietnam 1 tour and Alaska for 3 years. I retired at Ft Campbell in 1980. Took college classes while in active duty and finally complete college at Dallas Baptist University at the ripe old age of 52 years. Worked at Bell Helicopter for 18 years and retired. I wrote technical manuals and was bless to work on the V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor aircraft. I worked with the Marines in the development phase providing input from the maintenance standpoint to engineering. That was an interesting experience and fulfilling in having input into the design of the aircraft. I also had a short stint teaching aviation school at Rice Aviation School in Houston. All the boyhood interests in WWII and Korean War aviation paid off in the long run. You can say I have had a fulfilling life in serving my country and an aviation career.
