Chris Berry
Class of 1980
Army, 20+ Years
Chris enlisted in 1982 as a Military Policeman, where he served at Fort Hood, Texas and Muenster, Germany. In 1987, the Department of the Army selected Chris to be a recruiter. He served as a recruiter and Recruiiting Station Commander in New York City from 1987-1994. In 1994, Chris was selected to be a member of the 1st Recruiting Brigade Training Team, based at Fort Meade, MD. While at Fort Meade, Chris was awarded the Recruiter Ring, the Glen E. Morrell Recruiting Medallion and was selected as a charter member of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command's Order of the Saber. Prior to his retirement, Chris' last assignment was as the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion Operations Officer, overseeing the enlistment of over 12,000 new soldiers annually. Chris' military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4-time recipient), the Army Commendation Medal (3-time recipient), Army Achievement Medal (5-time recipient). Chris retired from the Army in 2003 with 21+ years of active military service and now lives in Madisonville, KY with his wife Lisa (McNeese) and their twin daughters, Shauna and Alexandra. He currently works as a Food Service Director for ARAMARK Correctional Services.

Army, 8 Years
Served in Vietnam 70-71. Served with Charlie Battery 6/11Artilllery. Served in Alpha Battery 1/10 Artillery in Sweinfurt Germany. Didn't like it. Should have took another tour in Vietnam.

Navy, 20+ Years
Joined the U.S. Navy in 1980. First duty station was the USS Jason (AR-8). Started as a deckhand (E-1), then went to Radioman A school to become a Radioman. In 1984, went to DCS Pearl Harbor. Tranferred to US Navy Reserve, 1987. In 1990, cross rated to HM2. In 1990, served in Desert Storm/Desert Shield. In 2001, commissioned as Ensign in United States Nurse Corps.Completed DCO (Direct Commissioner Officer school, February 2002. Presently a LT in the United States Nurse Corps Reserve.
Following ribbons and medals earned: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, Navy meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Good conduct, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Reserve Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer service Medal, Navy Sea Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal
