Navy, 4 Years
Stationed in Bremerton WA for the first two years on the USS Camden AOE-2 (now decomissioned). I served as a Seaman and did anything and everything you could do on a supply ship....standing watches, streering the ship out at sea, worked flight operations with two CH46 helicopters, did fuel replishments and supplied ships out in the ocean with ammo, food, and people. Lots of ship preservation. I spent approximately 15 out 25 months out at sea. I saw lots of countries including, Australia, Singapore, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, and of course the Middle East. We were the USS Cole's rescue ship providing deflooding equipment, food, showers, medical care, and people to help maintain the ship until other help arrived. I was eligible to go to school and I chose aircraft mechanics. I went to school in Pensacola FL and then got stationed Whidbey Island WA with VP46 (P3 Orion squadron). I met the squadron in Misawa Japan and spent a couple months there....then we came back to WA. I ended up meeting my now husband while in Whidbey Island and I got pregnant. I was transfered into an admisinstration postion doing orders and travel arrangements for squadrons and people going on deployment or school. I spent the remainder of my contract there until August of 2003.
