Sam Christenson
Class of 1968
Air Force, 4 Years
Served in Air Weather Service the meteorological branch of the USAF. Was stationed in Grand Forks, ND (how exotic!) and Galena, Alaska. Did a variety of weather stuff including sending up balloons and tracking them, recording weather observations, putting out forecasts, drawing weather maps, and briefing pilots. I loved working in weather and still can't help but keep one eye on the sky!

Air Force, 4 Years

Army, 3 Years
Served from 1962 - 1965 in the Womens Army Corps. Served in Alabama, Georgia, and Illinois. Trained in Teletype and Crypto operations. Never went overseas, but did have to see University of Chicago students burn our flag. Womens Army Corps was disbanded in 1978 so I feel that I belonged to a special group. When I left the military I was hired back at my same job but as a government employee. I am glad I served, it was hard work but it was also fun

Our Chosen Valley High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Chosen Valley High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
