Trained in Denver Colorado, then went to Bitburg Germany and maintained the F4 C,D and E Phantom Fighter Radar System and Balistic Computers. I then Went to Seymore Johnson AFB in Goldsboro NC and repaired the Radar Board parts down to the component. I then Moved to Hickory North Carolina and got my Electronic Engineering Degree. I worked for NCR Corp for 31 years, and am now living in Newton. IMy wife is Linda and my kids are, Jeremy.Katie, and Paul. Paul was a US Marine and served in the Middle East. He is now out and lives close by.

Electronic technical school and missile training on the TM61C Martin Matador at Lowry AFB, Denver, Colorado, then launch crew training at Orlando, Florida, then off to Korea for a year. After that, assigned to Vandenberg AFB in California for the ration of my enlistment working on the Titan I ICBM during the development program.

Served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Poland, Iraq OIF1, and Afghanistan twice. My last assignment was in Afghanistan 08 training Afghan Soldiers and Police. Due to retire in 13 months. Can't Wait!

Captain Winton Smith is a native of Wyoming and a 1989 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he earned a B.A. with distinction in History and German.

His career has been marked by service in every Combatant Command theater of operation as well three tours working for senior leaders in the Joint Staff and United States Navy. He has participated in 10 named operations supporting U.S. military efforts in and around Kuwait, Iraq, Columbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Korea, China, Taiwan, nine Carrier Strike Group deployments, and various counter-narcotic, counter-mine, and counter-sea infiltration operations.

Afloat, he most recently had the great life privilege to serve as the Commanding Officer of the guided missile destroyer, USS Higgins (DDG 76). Other tours afloat include: Executive Officer in USS Lake Champlain (CG 57); Operations Officer on the staff of Destroyer Squadron Fifteen; Operations Officer in USS Curts (FFG 38); and Damage Control Assistant, First Lieutenant, and Engineering Maintenance Materials Officer in USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51).

Ashore, he currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics. Prior to that, he commanded Naval Base San Diego. Other tours include: Executive Assistant to the Commander of Navy Installations Command; Director of Maritime Warfighting and Department Head Training at Surface Warfare Officers School Command; Executive Assistant to the Joint Staff’s War on Terrorism Deputy Director; Strategic planner and lead author of the National Military Strategic Plan for the War on Terrorism while assigned to the Strategy & Policy Directorate of the Joint Staff; Deputy Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans, Policy, and Operations; Strategic planner in the Navy’s Strategic Concepts Branch; and policy planner in the Navy’s Ocean Policy Branch.

Smith is a graduate of the Navy’s Corporate Business Course taught at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and an alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Seminar XXI. He earned a Masters with distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Masters in Foreign Affairs cum laude from the University of Virginia.

Crews with whom Smith served have earned five unit commendations including the “Battle Efficiency” award for operational excellence. While in command, Naval Base San Diego was recognized on more than 30 occasions for achievements in energy management, environmental stewardship, community service, and outstanding support to the Fleet, Fighter, & Family. The City of San Diego recognized him as one of the Top Influentials for 2013. His 16 personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal.

Captain Smith is married to the former Miss Kara Burge of Springboro, Ohio. They have two sons, Pierce and Dash. Team Smith interests include a variety of outdoor sports and activities.

Staff Sergeant Taylor was born on September 26, 1976. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 1995 and attended recruit training at MCRD Paris Island in September 1995.
Upon graduation from recruit training, he was assigned to F.T. Eustis Va. where he completed the 88N Course also know as 3112 Traffic Management Coordinator.
In March of 1996, PFC Taylor was assigned as a passenger terminal specialist at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa Japan.
LCpl Taylor was then received orders to Camp Pendleton, Ca. in March of 1997 and reported to 1st Landing Support Battalion Beach and Terminal Operations Co. Shipping and Receiving platoon. During his tenor at 1st LSB which became 1st Transportation Support Battalion LCpl Taylor deployed to the United Arab Emirates in support of an MPF off load.
In August of 1999 Cpl Taylor reenlisted in the 0613 military occupational specialty Construction Wireman and in February of 2000 attended the Construction Wireman course in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Upon graduation from school Sgt Taylor was assigned to 7th Communications Battalion, Okinawa, Japan for a 36 month tour from June 2000 to June 2003. During Sgt Taylor’s tour he deployed to Australia in support of Tandem Thrust and two tours to Thailand in support of Cobra Gold.
On March 1st 2003 Sgt Taylor was promoted to SSgt, June 2003 SSgt Taylor was reassigned to Headquarters Battalion, H&S Company, Communications and Data Directorate, Marine Corp Air Ground Task Force Twenty-nine Palms CA.
After two years with Base Telephone SSgt Taylor was reassigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion June of 2005 as the Bn Wire Chief. SSgt Taylor participated in OIF 5-7 where he served as the Bn Wire Chief, Guard Chief and the Alt Information Security Technician. In August of 2006 SSgt Taylor lateral moved to 0681 Information Security Technician in April of 2007 Staff Sergeant Taylor received orders to 1st BN 25th Marines located in F.T. Devens, Massachusetts. Staff Sergeant Taylor is now pending orders to Marine Air Group 24, Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. Staff Sergeant Taylor is married to Adela Taylor.
