Enlisted in the Marines in 1968, he was severely wounded in action, March 1969. Awards include Bronze Star (w/ combat 'V' device), Purple Heart, and Combat Action ribbon. Later conferred a BA from University of Pennsylvania. Served a career in the Veterans Administration, retiring from the Spokane, Washington VAMC as Chief of Prosthetics. He died 10 July 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho from complications of a neurodegenerative disorder consistent with frontotemporal dementia. SHS siblings are Judy Anne (class of '66), Dave Edmond ('68), Don Richard ('71), and Paul Howard ('73).
